Ms. Heaney joined SA Union Square in 2017 as a first-grade teacher. She also taught kindergarten and second grade and served as a grade team lead before joining SA Hell’s Kitchen in 2022 as assistant principal for grades kindergarten through fourth grade and science. Ms. Heaney holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Gettysburg College and a master’s degree in education from Touro Graduate School of Education. Ms. Heaney is passionate and committed to building a school with a strong sense of community for both scholars and staff. Outside of education, she enjoys going on walks and trying new restaurants in the city!
